Paul B. Jones

Vice President of Exploration (Houston)

Paul B. Jones, who joined us in June 2003 as a Senior Asset Geoscientist, was previously promoted to Lead Asset Geoscientist in January 2006 and Exploration Manager in January 2008 and was most recently named Vice President of Exploration in July 2008. He has over 24 years of energy industry experience in the exploration and development efforts in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM), both on the shelf and in deepwater, as well as in Alaska.  Mr. Jones began his career with ARCO as a Geophysicist in their Alaska group, and then became a Senior Geophysicist in their Houston office responsible for prospect evaluations on the GOM shelf. He later moved into Vastar Resources, Inc., a subsidiary of ARCO, working as a Principal Geophysicist responsible for GOM shelf exploitation opportunities.  Following the BP Amoco acquisition of ARCO, Mr. Jones became a Senior Staff Geophysicist for BP America Inc. in Houston working the Na Kika field development, a major BP-Shell joint venture in deepwater GOM. Mr. Jones holds a Masters of Science degree in Geophysics from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Northeastern University of Boston.
